We are living in a world of opportunity. Right now, our mindsets are being tested while we navigate the current world crisis that is engulfing the lives of so many. It is challenging us to create new norms and to reassess our lives. Through these trials, we must try to stay positive, calm and resilient. We continue to live in a world of opportunity; however, we may need to reassess where those opportunities arise. Virtual platforms are fast becoming the norm for working and socialising, and there’s never been a better time to get on board.
I recently became a member of Top 100 Women, a virtual platform aimed at addressing and delivering solutions to the range of obstacles faced in entry, retention and leadership prospects for women. I was attracted to the platform because, as a new mother, currently on maternity leave and working remotely, I could continue to connect with others in the building and construction industry, access resources and view companies who are committed to being preferred industry employers for women.
I originally heard about Top 100 Women when it was used to profile women working in the broader construction industry internationally. I was lucky enough to be featured by Top 100 Women, which was a great honour and helped to create more visibility both personally and for the various initiatives I was involved with.
I have recently had the opportunity to become an ambassador for Top 100 Women. I am thrilled to be able to promote this outstanding virtual platform, which is needed now, more than ever. I believe that it is an amazing resource for individuals and companies, and I love sharing the capabilities with industry colleagues. As an ambassador, I truly believe in the product and I can see how it is going to be a valuable resource for so many.
I have recently launched my own consulting business, Carly Zanini Consulting. I established the business following constant observations during many years in the construction industry, recognising the need for a trusted and reliable resource to assist businesses in various areas. With vast industry experience, I can add value to your tender proposal, estimates, award submission or business policies and procedures. Services include bid writing and tender response document preparation, business development, diversity, and inclusion consultation, estimating requirements, as well as individual, company and project award submissions.
I hold positions on several different industry boards, councils and committees, many of whom exist to advocate for women in the broader construction industry. I have been involved in hundreds of conversations, presentations, workshops, meetings around the issues facing women, and I am committed to ensuring that my involvement sees positive change. I know that Top 100 Women will be a driving force for continuous progress, and I am so happy to be involved.
Remember, we are living in a world of opportunity. Take the time to reassess your life and aspirations. Keep abreast of the new opportunities that are presenting themselves at this time and do what makes you happy!
