The most surprising comment made
After the Top 100 Women hosted the panel “Building Women, Not just Houses” the most surprising feedback came after the event. And it’s not what you might think!
No, it was not “Yes, we all hate men!” or “Yes you tell them men to sit in a corner and let us dominate” it was in fact after the event that we had people lined up to chat to us, that we realised we were, in fact, exposing a side to women within this sector that finally allowed women to breathe.
“Thank you for giving us permission to be just ourselves.” And in that one sentence, we realised we were on the right track!
Contrary to many other women’s groups, we don’t actually hate men! In fact, we had no desire to castrate them and ‘tell them who is boss.’ Being anything other than authentic is incredibly exhausting after a while.
We actually wanted to include men in the subject as we did on the panel hosted recently in Sydney. And after all the commotion died down and we had time to digest it all, this comment was one that stayed with us long after we had left.
The hardest thing about growing up as a woman within a traditionally male dominated field is breaking down the barriers, the perceptions of who you expect us to be. And truth is, we have no desire to bust your balls!
What we are building for women within this sector is pathways. Pathways to where they would like to go within the sector. Pathways to grow within the industry so that we have an all-inclusive & diverse table to improving this industry, not diminishing it.
If that offends you as a male…. Well, we won’t apologise.
But quite frankly it is now 2019 and everyone deserves the right to be themselves in the sectors they work in. Like blockbuster failed to learn, we must adapt. So get on the train, or get out of our way!

We are here to deliver a solution!
