What do you enjoy the most, working in the field of construction & development?
Working for Coast to Country Building Approvals. I love what I do and love who I work with. I also really enjoy working with external peers. In a small town, you get to know all the architects, builders, council workers, etc. We all work hard and love a challenge. I relish on challenges, and every day we come across new challenges.
Where do you see life in the next 5 years, what possibilities are ahead of you?
There are always endless possibilities. I have personal items that I would like to tick off my bucket list. But for the future of my career, I would like to see myself holding a registration as a Building Surveyor.
If you could write a letter to a 13-year-old ‘you’ what would you say?
You are young. Try your best at School. Be active. Follow your dreams. Love your family and friends. Most importantly, love yourself for who you are. Be proud.
What are 3 skills you have had to develop to get to where you are presently?
- Balancing on reinforcement: It takes some skill.
- Resilience: There is no “can’t do” attitude. We can all strive to achieve what we want.
- Problem solving: Identify the problem. Brainstorm. Assess the alternatives. Choose the solution. Execute the solution. Evaluate and apply.
