We work across the nation in supporting women within the construction sector and soon will be launching ‘Male Champions’, a pathway to involve men on the journey in creating a more harmonious sector across the board. However, unlike traditional advocacy groups, we have built a platform to address the obstacles faced by women in construction and measure the change within our community.
I have my own development business and as we grew, the more it became incredibly alarming that even if we could build all the houses required to solve the homelessness crisis (women over 55 being one of the largest categories of people experiencing homelessness), how would we assist in influencing and preventing this category of women from being homeless in 10, 20, 30, and 40 years’ time? And what it boiled down to was education.
Top 100 Women will soon be expanding to include the Top 100 Training Academy, a training division for our members designed to utilise learning opportunities in the construction sector to upskill women throughout their career journey. We have a number of great memberships, including our FREE Maternity Membership, created to enable new mums to raise their kids, build their professional network and continue their education.
We recognise that collectively, we need to change. We need to educate and continue to upskill people to retain the quality of workmanship and adapt to the shifting times. Similar to most industries, the construction industry has been hit hard and requires growth and adaption not be left behind.
Stay abreast of what is to come for our Members with the NEW CPD Program coming soon.
