What do you enjoy the most, working in the field of construction & development?
I love giving old houses new life, renovations are my speciality they are hard work and can be testing at times, but the end results are always so worth the hard work, sweat and tears.
Where do you see your life in the next 5 years, what possibilities are ahead of you?
My business has just started, I am 4 months in so far with amazing results. I have loads of work coming in and my goal is to expand and employ like-minded men and women to join my team from qualified to apprentice. I want to establish a successful business with a team who are treated well and supported through their journeys.
If you could write a letter to a 13-year-old ‘you’ what would you say?
Have you ever thought about being a builder? I realise this doesn’t seem like a career path for a woman, but it will make sense to you and become your passion. It will require hard work, but it will be worth it.
What are 3 skills you have had to develop to get to where you are presently?
- Emotional toughness: You have to be so tough to be a builder mentally and physically.
- Learning to use all power tools: Those things take a lot of skill to master.
- Confidence: I had to learn to be confident in myself and to be taken seriously. I had to become confident in my work and who I am.
