Name: Justine Wilson

Company: Vault Interiors
What do you enjoy the most, working in the field of construction & development?
The fast pace and ever-changing nature of our industry, general design trends and materials change, along with the real estate market which is subject to many external factors. Even the way people live has changed, such as the tiny home movement and a surge in air BNB rentals – the way we use property, style and live in our homes is always evolving – so that means we always have to adapt and innovate.
What are your biggest achievements in your field?
I’d love to continue to grow the business and I enjoy the media side of things, so some more TV and podcast work – it gets the message out about our brand but is also a fun platform to work in and showcase new design trends.
If you could write a letter to a 13-year-old ‘you’ what would you say?
I would say embrace change, nothing is certain, and you need to adapt and roll with the highs and lows, so enjoy the journey and don’t get stuck on plans, let things unfold as they do, and be open.
What are 3 skills you have had to develop to get to where you are presently?
- Managing people, with more staff comes a need to develop, plan and train to have a consistent result.
- Time management, I have to meet clients, do media work, run the business and creatively I still do a lot of design for clients – so managing priorities is a big one.
- Finally, relationships in general, with clients, with staff and suppliers – it all comes down to a good network and team around you.
