Who inspired you to get where you are today & what’s your greatest accomplishment & why?
I am inspired by any person who has the courage to just give things a go. Whether that means attending networking events and seeking out new professional contacts, speaking at conferences, stepping into a new role or challenging the ‘norm’.
Many people over the years have inspired me; from professionals who are so knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs, to leaders who are successful influencers of others, to people who strive to get involved wherever possible.
I personally love a challenge, which encourages me to seek out initiatives that push me out of my comfort zone. One of those occurrences was my submission and subsequent success in being awarded the Sarah Constructions NAWIC Crystal Vision Award in 2018.
I was thrilled to be recognised for my contribution toward advancing the interests of women in the construction industry. I am involved with many industry groups and sit on councils, committees or core teams for six different associations.
I am involved with all these groups because they help to inform each other and there is a great opportunity for cross-pollination of networks and knowledge.
I believe that diversity, collaboration and creativity are all essential to the future success of our industry.
