What do you enjoy the most, working in the field of construction & development?
To me, it’s such a privilege to be able to be a part of building something that I am proud of and being able to leave a legacy. I love being able to work closely with people who are passionate about transforming visions into reality through creating innovative and functional built environments whether it’s being a part of building a brand new aged care facility or helping my private coaching clients achieve the life of their dreams.
Where do you see your life in the next 5 years, what possibilities are ahead of you?
My desire is to reach the top of my construction career and become a General Manager in the aged care sector while growing my private coaching practice to an international level, inspiring and supporting corporate women in designing and constructing their dream lives.
If you could write a letter to a 13-year-old ‘you’ what would you say?
Don’t be so concerned about what other people think of you. The greatest gift that you can give to yourself is to build the most amazing relationship yourself and love yourself unconditionally. When you love and respect yourself, others will love and respect you.
What are 3 skills you have had to develop to get to where you are presently?
- Organisation skills: This allows me to be efficient and productive in my work so that I can manage my full-time job and running my own coaching business.
- Presentation skills: When I first started in this industry, I was an introvert and was unable to run meetings or presentations. Through watching others, preparing, and working on my self-confidence, I have become a lot better at it.
- Communicate and influence with authenticity: The construction industry is all about relationships. I have learned that in order to communicate effectively, I needed to understand myself first. By thinking about who I am and how I connect with people, I have been able to build authentic relationships. I have also learned ways to communicate with different personalities over the years, which has really helped me build genuine rapport and relationships quickly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and people in my team, in a way that is easy and effortlessly for me.
